Its core business is the development of high performance cell culture media for the life sciences economy, and for the biopharmaceutical industry in particular. At the basis of this venture is a technology developed at REQUIMTE, Chemistry Department, FCT/UNL, in the systems biology and engineering lab headed by Prof. Rui Oliveira. MediaOmics is the exclusive licensee of this technology.
MediaOmics technology enables a substantial increase of culture media performance, a reduction of customers manufacturing costs, an increase of manufacturing capacity and reduction of time-to-market for new developed products.
Based on its innovative technology and competitive business model, MediaOmics has won the final of the ISCTE-IUL MIT Portugal Venture Competition, Life sciences track.
